Hello, my name is Mark Romang. I wasn't expecting company, but by a serendipitous twist of fate you've landed on my humble website. Welcome!
I have been reading and writing suspense fiction almost daily for the past twenty-three years. And now at long last I'm a published author. Twenty-three years ago I was a single guy holed up in his apartment, snowbound with nothing to do. I picked up a Clive Cussler novel a friend gave me to read. I quickly warmed to the book and read almost the whole novel in one night, and at some point while I was reading I truly believe ol' Clive poked his grizzled head through the pages and blew some germs onto me. He infected me with the writing bug, a disease with no known cure. Now my head is full of outlandish plots, fiendish villains, spectacular action scenes, and heroes who never give up. I go to sleep thinking of writing and wake up thinking of writing. It's a curse, this writing disease.
I guess I should tell you I live in a town called Liberty. I feel free here. Very free. Liberty is a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. You may already know Kansas City is famous for amazing barbecue. It's also famous for extreme weather, mediocre sports teams, and the third highest concentration of ragweed pollen in the United States. But don't get the wrong impression, Kansas City is nothing to sneeze at. We have things going for us. We have fountains. Lots of them. Only Rome has more fountains. So if water spraying up into the air excites you, you may want to relocate to KC.
I live the American dream with my wonderful wife Paula and son Luke, and a large yellow dog named JoJo. I hope you'll take a chance on The Grace Painter and The Treasure Box, or Battle Scream and Battle Storm. Although the two series are very different, I think you'll like all four books. And thanks for stopping by. Come back again anytime.
